December 23rd 2012:
We were saddened this past week with the news of Deacon Barry Wallace’s death and funeral Mass this past Friday. Deacon Barry was assigned to many parishes throughout the Diocese of St. Petersburg and we have had the privilege of his service at St. Catherine of Siena since 2006. He was always a steadfast presence at our Saturday 4:00pm Vigil Mass, was always available to provide pastoral assistance at wake services and burials, and was a faithful inspiration to our parish community. You will notice in the collage of photos in this weekend’s bulletin, moments in the life of Deacon Barry. They include his high school graduation, his service in the Army, his Scottish heritage, his 53 years of marriage to Annetta, his 7 children and 29 grandchildren, and of course his diaconal service to our parish. “Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon him.”
