Prison Ministry

Description: Weekly Catholic service brings the Word of God and the message of God's love and forgiveness to the incarcerated men and women at the 49th Street Correctional Facility. Authorized volunteers accompany the priest for Mass and the Sacrament of Reconciliation, or the deacon who conducts a Communion service. Volunteers assist the inmates in the Catholic services.

Requirements: Volunteer adults over 18 years of age must be fingerprinted, interviewed, and trained by the prison chaplain at the jail.

Training: Mandatory training at the jail is required.

Time: Approximately 2 hours on Tuesday morning; 11:00-1:00PM. Other times might be available for consideration.
