Description: Cursillos in Christianity means a short course in Christianity.
It is a retreat-time away from the world; a lesson; a time for discussion; a time for prayer and reflection;
a time to hear about how God works in fellow Christians' lives; a time to get close to God;
and a time to learn about a great method to stay close to God. MOST IMPORTANT, it teaches a Way of Life.
A Cursillo is an encounter with Christ. That sounds too simple but it is not. Think about it. It is a real meeting with Christ.
If that is understood then the power, beauty and joy of the Cursillo Movement will be understood.

Requirements: Catholic Cursillo is open to baptized Catholics who are invited into the program by a Cursillo Sponsor.

Time Commitment: 1) Weekly Group Reunion 2) Monthly Ultreya 3) Regular Spiritual Direction

Helpful Attributes: Commitment and perseverance with a willingness to be in fellowship with all Christians.

Franciscan Center

The Franciscan Center is an intimate space where groups can truly focus on the reason why they're here — the work to be done, or the reason to celebrate.
The tranquil facility offers the quiet atmosphere of a faraway retreat, and yet is conveniently located on eight acres of riverfront property in a quiet residential neighborhood just minutes from downtown Tampa, the Westshore District and Tampa International Airport.
The Center is a private, non-profit retreat house staffed by the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany, NY and dedicated laity who are assisted by loyal volunteers in carrying out their ministry. Throughout the year, various professional retreat directors assist the staff in offering group programs and private retreats.
We welcome groups of all faiths, and non-profit and for-profit organizations that would like to arrange their own retreats; celebrations; teambuilding, meetings or corporate retreats or workshops.

The House of Prayer is nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood.  The grounds surrounding this ministry are noted for their serenity and beauty.  Over the years, the grounds of the House of Prayer have been a place of healing and spiritual renewal for all those who have come. The ministry of the Marian Servants of Divine Providence, an Association of lay women and men, coordinates a number of ministries at the House of Prayer. A retreat ministry, a school of Spirituality, and days for prayer and recollection are just a few of their services. Each year, our RCIA groups have used their facilities for annual mornings of prayer and reflection.
