The Sacrament of Baptism
"Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit (vitae spiritualis ianua), and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: 'Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word.'"

Please do not hesitate to contact Baptism Coordinator to ask any questions, schedule a time to meet with our clergy, and register for the Baptism Preparation Classes.

Congratulations on making the important decision to have your child baptized!
Baptisms are celebrated weekly during Sunday Mass or the Saturday Vigil and outside of Mass on the last Sunday of the month. If you are planning to have your child baptized, you can start the process now.

All requirements must be complete at least 1 month prior to the date of Baptism
- Register with St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church
- If you are registered at another Catholic Church, please provide a Letter of Permission to Baptize from your home parish.

- Complete the Baptism Registration Form
- Copy of the child’s Birth Certificate
- Sponsor Letter for Godmother
- Sponsor Letter for Godfather
- Attend a Baptism Preparation Class
- Meet with a priest or deacon
- Schedule baptism date with our Baptism Coordinator
- Register with St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church

Baptism Preparation Class in English is held online (Zoom) on the first Sunday of most months at 10:15 am and lasts approximately one hour.
Please complete the Baptism Registration Form and call (727) 531-7721 if you are interested in having your child baptized or to pre-register for a Baptism Preparation Class.
