Starting with Mass on Thursday, June 15th at 6:00 pm, St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church will be engaging in the 40 Hours Devotion as part of our participation in the Year of Parish Revival during the National Eucharistic Revival. But what does that mean?
Originating in Milan around the year 1530, the 40 Hours Devotion is a special period of continuous prayer made before the Blessed Sacrament, with the focus of the devotion being the Holy Eucharist. The 40 hours of prayer traditionally signifies the “ 40 hour period” from our Lord’s burial until his resurrection.
