A Word of Gratitude from Sr. Rosamunda

A Word of Gratitude

by Sr. Rosamunda Massawe CDNK

February 6th, 2022

Dear Rev. Monsignor Robert Morris and Parishioners of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church,

On behalf of Mother Theresa Buretta CDNK, the Superior General and the sisters of Our Lady of Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, I am writing to thank you whole-heartedly for your benevolent donations you made on the weekend masses of September 25 – 26, 2021, toward our mission of caring for the poor and orphaned children in Tanzania. We are very grateful for your great donation of $19,186.21 raised on that weekend. Your generosity is amazing! May the Good Lord reward you abundantly!

This money will be sent to Mother Theresa Buretta, the Superior General of the CDNK sisters in Tanzania, who will properly distribute to our orphanages and schools, to meet the needs of our poor children. Your generous donation will be of great assistance to the sisters in the procurement of some necessary items which the children need for their daily living especially their health and education.

We simply do not have the right words to express our inner most appreciation and gratitude for your kindness, which moved you to come to our aid in this difficult economic time.

We know that you did give not from your surplus, but from the little you have, without counting the cost. Again, thank you and God bless you always!

We want you to rest assured of our daily prayers so that the Good Lord who is the source and giver of all the gifts, may richly continue to bless you both in this life and in the next.

In Christ,

Sr. Rosamunda Massawe CDNK

Siena House

As baptized Christians, we are called to go out to the peripheries and encounter Christ. One of those peripheries is our initiative in Coral Heights. This is in response to our pastoral priority to connect our faith to the local community. Our newly acquired property is located at 3718 139th Avenue North, Largo, FL 33771.

Siena House Update

In October 2017, volunteers from our parish and the Coral Heights Neighborhood Association began visiting residents of the Coral Heights neighborhood. We went door-to-door to introduce ourselves and to acquaint the residents with Siena House. To date, we have made contact wtih about half of the community. By April 2018, we hope to have met members of every household in the neighborhood.

At each visit, we ask a few questions regarding their concerns and needs of their community and of their own families with which we might be able to assist. There have been requests for prayer, food, clothing, tutoring, and activities for their children. We already have provided assistance with several of these requests.

In December 2017, we held the Siena House Dedication, when we also dedicated playing fields located on nearby Duke Energy property, which are available for community use.
