Job Opening: Evangelization and Communication Coordinator

St Catherine of Siena Catholic Church is seeking an Evangelization and Communication Coordinator. This full-time position is charged with engaging current parishioners and potential church members through social and educational events, as well as direct outreach in the community. The Evangelization and Communication Coordinator will also implement a cohesive and effective communications strategy for the parish.

 

Expectations:

  • Manages the development, distribution, and maintenance of all print and electronic communications. This includes, but not limited to, weekly print bulletin, social media, electronic newsletters, brochures, and St. Catherine of Siena parish website.
  • Schedules content and engages followers across social media platforms.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of principles of diocesan Social Communications Policy and best practices.
  • Highly motivated, creative individual with a passion for connecting with current and future parishioners.
  • Facilitates assignments and projects consistent with the responsibility level of Communications and general duties of a Coordinator.
  • Organizes and supports a core ministry team of parish volunteers to provide leadership to evangelization and communication activities in the parish.
  • Supports evangelization outreach such as new parishioner events, name tag Sundays, social activities, parties, outreach to inactive registered parishioners, and after-mass hospitality.
  • Collaborates with Parish Council, ministry leaders, and staff leadership team in the overall parish planning.
  • Demonstrates passion for outreach, community organizing, and parish ministry.
  • Available nights and weekends for select special events for the parish.

 

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will be an energetic, practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.
  • Degree in Communications, Marketing, or relevant discipline.
  • Passage of a Level II FBI background screening.
  • Completion of Diocesan Safe Environment Training.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills..
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
  • Skilled in Canva, Microsoft Publisher, WordPress, and other relevant software.
  • Experience in Photography, Videography, and Adobe Creative Cloud software is a plus.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Background in ministry, theology and/or church traditions.

Job Opening: Director of Youth Ministry

 

We are seeking a full-time Director of Youth Ministry who will establish and sustain a welcoming community of teens from our parish who are inspired and encouraged to become disciples of Jesus.

 

Expectations:

  • A practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church who has an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Organize weekly gatherings and periodic retreats for parish youth
  • Cultivate teen leadership within youth ministry program and parish at large
  • Assign roles to all volunteers who facilitate youth ministry gatherings and other events
  • Facilitate parish opportunities for attendance at national youth evangelization programs (such as NCYC, Steubenville Conferences, and Life Teen camps)
  • Able to build relationships well with middle school and high school youth and their parents
  • Proficient in using modern technologies of communication (including social media) to inform teens of youth ministry events, collaborating with the parish Communications Coordinator when needed
  • Interact with local schools where parishioners attend (principally, Clearwater Central Catholic High School & St. Cecelia Interparochial Catholic School)
  • Maintain a flexible ministry of presence on Sundays (especially during times of Mass)
  • Responsible for development and implementation of sacramental preparation (including Confirmation) for teenagers in grades 6-12 and the recording of these sacraments in parish records
  • Administer the annual diocesan assessment (ARK, Assessment of Religious Knowledge) to those in sacramental preparation
  • Demonstrate good organizational and communication skills
  • Capable of planning and managing a budget
  • Collaborate as a member of the parish leadership team (which meets weekly)
  • Develop the annual curricular calendar in tandem with the Faith Formation Coordinator
  • Work together with Faith Formation Coordinator in the planning and execution of parish family formation and social events
  • Manage and implement diocesan Safe Environment guidelines for teens and volunteers

 

Qualifications:

  • B.A., preferred in Theology-Education or youth ministry certification
  • At least 2 years’ experience of involvement in youth ministry—especially in organizing retreats and teen activities
  • Passage of a Level II FBI background screening
  • Completion of Diocesan Safe Environment Training
